Ella Bench joins Urban Green Lab as the Operations Manager, focusing on creating and managing systems and processes that support Urban Green Lab’s growth. She brings over 10 years of expertise leading global projects, staff and internal operations within the corporate e-commerce sector.
Ella is a Texas native with family roots in the Tennessee/Alabama area. She received her Bachelors in Family and Consumer Science with an emphasis in Fashion Merchandising from Texas State University. Her operational background began in New York City while working for an international designer and PR firm, to execute the various logistical needs for runway shows. She discovered that her creativity is best expressed by being an innovative problem solver.
Ella spent 7 years with Amazon.com creating centers of operational excellence within Global Product Imaging. Her role included developing the global operations program for all of Amazon’s on-figure apparel photo studios, supervising the research and development team to create innovative automated imaging solutions and successfully directing concurrent new photo studio build outs.
During her time with Amazon she encountered her first corporate Green Team that inspired her to pursue Sustainability as a career. Three years ago her family inherited a farm in Alabama and she took that as a sign that it was time for something new. She left the hustle and bustle of New York City to earn her Masters in Sustainable Practice from Lipscomb University. Ella is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to apply her operational experience to help reduce waste in Nashville.
In her free time, Ella can be found tending to her 40 acre farm and dreaming of the quaint sustainable get away she is manifesting it to be.
