Brewin' with the Lab: Fall Fundraiser 2015

Good times and groovy guests were “Brewin’ with the Lab” at our first ever fall fundraiser on October 11th, held at Blackstone’s new taproom, brewery, and urban orchard complex. This scenic spot with big garden plans wasn’t just buzzing with the taproom’s healthy apiary- there was nothing but enthusiasm for our sustainability education initiatives. With over 100 guests and $3000 raised for our work, we can’t be thankful enough for all the support this community has given us!

Mitchell’s deli provided delicious food and all guests received a pint glass and carefully crafted brew by Blackstone. With a line-up like Oktoberfest, Helles, Session IPA, and Pumpkin Ale, everyone’s taste preferences were covered. We had a thorough taproom and garden tour with a taste of the hives rich and pure honey, thanks to the teamwork of Sweet Swarms Apiary and Thomas Solinksky’s urban orchard- the bees pollinate a growing collection of peach and pear trees behind the taproom.

Thanks to everyone at Blackstone Brewing Company and Sweet Swarms Apiary for their good work.
Thanks to Mitchell Delicatessen for the wholesome and delicious food. Thanks to Eternal Returns for providing sustainable waste management. Thanks to all the organizations that donated items for our silent auction and raffle, namely Kermit Chair Company, LLC and Gibson Guitar. Thanks to all the volunteers who donated generous time and energy, and thanks to everyone who has been so supportive of our work! It's going to be a green and giving fall.
