Engage Green strikes again! Our second annual Small-Scale Gardening workshop was another salad-y success. Judith, our experienced instructor, gave workshop participants helpful hints for container gardening, perfect for tight urban spaces. Eco-conscious garden market and landscape company, Gardens of Babylon generously donated the materials for the workshop, including healthy soil, buckets, and all the kale, spinach, lettuce, and chard a person could desire. Each participant went home with their mini salad garden, which they will be able to enjoy by late spring. With many of the plants functioning as "cut and come agains", these giving plants will produce all season-long. Thanks to Judith and Gardens of Babylon, Matt Genova and Team Green Adventures, Goodwill for providing event space, our helpful volunteers, and everyone who came out. Growing your own food, no matter how small-scale, takes you (and your entire community!) one step closer to achieving a sustainable, self-sufficient lifestyle. Didn't make it to this workshop? Never fear- Engage Green workshops take place the first Wednesday of every month. Read about our upcoming workshops here.
