We are so excited to welcome Amy McFadden to the Urban Green Lab team as the Sustainability Specialist!
Amy's background is a mix of nonprofit management, hands-on farm work, and collaboration with schools, teachers, and environmental educators. Most recently, Amy directed the auxiliary programs at an independent Montessori school on the south side of Chicago while volunteering on a small-scale vegetable and herb farm just north of the city.
Amy will bring her experience working on family farms in Massachusetts and Colorado and managing environmental education and outdoor recreation based youth development nonprofit programs. Amy served as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer in Colorado and collaborated with public school teachers to coordinate science curriculum and outdoor learning with Rocky Mountain Youth Corps and Yampa Valley Science School.
A graduate of Valparaiso University in 2002, Amy uses her bachelor's in sociology and art almost as much as her master's degree in nonprofit management from Regis University.
Keep an eye out for more updates!
